PHATS/SPHEM would like to thank all members, vendors and guests who attended our very successful 2008 Annual Conference this past June in St. Louis, MO. Everyone really seemed to enjoy all that the conference had to offer – from our very fun and lively “Casino Night” to all the informative and productive “Educational Sessions” and great “Forums” there seemed to be enough to go around. We would like to again, congratulate Dave Smith, former Equipment Manager of the Dallas Stars on his induction into the PHATS/SPHEM Hall of Fame and the Honorees Anthony A.T. Caggiano and Francis “Frank” Sciulli, Sr., former locker room assistants of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Hall of Fame Dinner was definitely a night to remember for Dave and his family and friends along with all in attendance. Ralph Strangis, the evening’s Hall of Fame Speaker, really set the stage for Dave and gave us an amazing road to follow of Dave early years to now. Also, a big congratulations to all of our other award recipients for the evening – WAY TO GO! The 2009 PHATS/SPHEM ANNUAL CONFERENCE will be held in June at the JW Marriott Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. (Specific dates and information to follow)

HOUSEKEEPING SECTION

CEU's - CEUs have been distributed at the conclusion of the Annual Conference in St. Louis. If you have not received your CEUs of are in need of any back CEUs from former meetings please contact Lisa Sherry at website@phats-sphem.com. She will be more than happy to assist you in whatever you may need. 2008/2009 DIRECTORY - All changes made to the Directory will be made via your TEAM PROFILE and MEMBER PROFILES on our website. Everything will be done via computer; there will be no paper trail. The Head Athletic Trainer will be responsible for all updated and changes this year. Once you have completed all of the updates to your team page, you must click on an UPDATE box stating your team's information is ready for the 2007-2008 Directory. All updates must be completed by August 1st, 2008. The deadline for all vendors will also be August 1st, 2008 to submit all their pertinent information. All Directories will be mailed to all by the first week of October. 2008/2009 TRAINING CAMP GUIDE - The Training Camp Guide will be emailed to the NHL Members and Vendors as a PDF download, prior to the start of training camp. The NHL Head Athletic Managers will be responsible for the updates and changes to the Training Camp Guide. The forms will be emailed to you to complete and then emailed back to the PHATS/SPHEM Office. The training camp schedule must be included and no faxes will be accepted. The Training Camp Guide forms should be emailed back to admin@phats-sphem.com no later than August 10th, 2008. Vendors please note: The NHL Training Camp Guide will be emailed to you as a PDF download prior to the start of Training Camp. It will not be listed in the directory. GAMES WORKED - Members, please make sure all your Games Worked have been updated in a timely fashion so we have the most updated information for our files.
